Homeschool Association of the Lone Star State (HALSS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to support private homeschooling in Texas. Our board members are experienced homeschooling parents.
Although HALSS is not a faith-based organization, because so much of how and when and with what we teach our children is the same regardless of any religious beliefs or lack thereof, and laws affect everyone equally, our board members do have these beliefs in common:
"There is one triune God, Who has existed before all time and Who created all things. The Trinity consists of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each one fully God while the Son, Jesus Christ, is also fully Man. God created man and woman in His image, and charged them to be fruitful and multiply. Because of this charge, they have a God-given right and responsibility to raise their children in the way they see fit, which includes deciding the way in which their children will be formally educated."
